For the duration of your trip you are at home in Zingem. The house will always have snacks, beer and wine, and a full refrigerator. Meals will provide great tasting food befitting Rick’s restaurateur background, along with the nutrition and fuel he knows bike racers like himself require. And then there’s the conversation. Every feast presents an opportunity become further immersed in bike racing by talking non-stop with the other like-minded aficionados you are sharing the house with.
Breakfast
Fresh bread, pastries, butter, jam and other spreads, milk, yogurt, cereal, and fresh fruit. Eggs and meats will be available for self-preparation. Juice, coffee and tea.
Lunch
Lunch will normally be a grazing, self-construction affair of salad, meat, cheese, nuts, fruit, bread and makings for sandwiches.
Dinner
Our chef, Mie, will provide dinner daily except when noted in the schedule. A typical dinner will include soup, salad, main course and dessert. On days that the group travels to watch evening pro races, you will be on your own for dinner. We recommend finding a local restaurant in the village where that day’s pro race is being held.
Beer and Wine
A selection of Belgium beer and a variety of wine will be provided and available at the house. Please be respectful and drink responsibly. While not required, feel free to contribute to the house’s supply.
Snacks
Snacking is a great part of cycling. Whether at midnight or 3:00 p.m., the kitchen will always have extra food for you to either snack on or for you to construct your own late night dinner or extra lunch. If you are hungry, simply go into the kitchen and find something to eat.
Ride food
A variety of bars, gels, and sport drinks will be available.
